This is wrong in so many levels.
- You have to be deliberately insistent to buy a Dell with Ubuntu on their web site. Unless she is enticed by the 0$ Ubuntu OS.
- Loading of software to configure a wireless internet connection are not necessary these days. She just need to point the web browser to the local ip address of the router. Or she can just call the hotline or a geek for help.
- Openoffice can read and write Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint files. Don’t know where Abbie gets the idea that it doesn’t.
In short, it doesn’t mean that Abbie would not have technical problems if she buys a Windows machine. Just that it will cost her more (Vista and Microsoft Office license) to do essentially the same thing.
