Australians who illegally downloaded Dallas Buyers Club unlikely to receive large fine: IP expert

The Dallas Buyers Club case is also in Australia. Something is not quite right here. 1. It is not the studios but the only the producers of this particular movie that is doing it. Obviously all other movies are excluded. 2. They are going after individual downloaders and not the the torrent sites (e.g. The pirates bay) 3. Lawyers are not the first rated like from studio. Not sure what they are trying to achieve here. Leech 5000 bucks from the offenders? That's a lot of work for very little payout. 4. Going after the end client does not help resolve anything (just like going after the buyer and not the seller of illegal DVD). Let's see how it turns out in Australia to get a feel of what will be happening here...
